Questions

Questions about Florida public adjusters

What does a Florida public adjuster do?

A Florida public adjuster is licensed by the Department of Financial Services and hired by the policyholder, not by the insurer. The adjuster documents the damage, reviews the policy, prepares a detailed estimate and negotiates the claim with the insurance company on your behalf.

Do you work outside Miami?

Yes. We work with property owners throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, and with residential and commercial claims across Florida by phone or Zoom. Visits to the property are arranged by appointment.

How can I check a Florida public adjuster’s license?

Anyone can verify an adjuster’s license with the Florida Department of Financial Services. Ricardo Arevalo’s public adjuster license is W319359, and the firm’s license is W824117.

How are FL public adjusters paid?

FL public adjusters usually work on a contingency fee, and Florida law caps it at 20 percent of claim payments, or 10 percent for claims tied to a declared state of emergency during the year after the declaration. If nothing is recovered, no fee is owed.
